Plan a successful shoe drive and raise thousands of dollars for your school or organization. It’s that easy!

As said by Benjamin Franklin: “If you fail to plan, you are planning to fail!”

It was true then and true now. Here are 3 easy steps to help you PLAN for a successful shoe drive.

  1. Identify your team and make sure everybody is on board. You cannot expect good success doing this on your own. As a team, identify who will do what? Who is the person in charge? Who will make the flyer? Etc…
  2. What are you fundraising for? Be very specific and your community of supporters will rally behind your cause. Never fundraise for the “general fund”. -Yes. We know the general budget needs money, but that can be a hard sell. Instead decide on one (or maybe two) very specific line items. For example: “We are raising funds to offset the cost of the zoo field trip”.
  3. Set a shoe collection goal for each individual based on how much you need to raise. If you just ask the students to collect shoes you haven’t given them a tangible goal. Instead challenge each individual to “collect 100 pairs of shoes”. Giving a number makes it very clear and simple. (And believe it or not, it’s relatively easy to collect 100 pair of gently used shoes). Set your target based on the funds needed and how many participants you will have. We have worked with successful groups both small and large. Groups that collect as little as 2 pairs each, as well as programs that collect 300 or more pairs each! It all depends on what your end goal is. The more you collect, the more money you raise!
